Key Responsibilities

Wintel (L1) Key Responsibilities: Windows System Operations & Monitoring: Perform baseline Windows Server administration, system status checks, event log analysis, service monitoring, and daily health checks across Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 instances. User & Access Administration: Handle standard user account lifecycle management in Active Directory (AD), including account creation, group additions, password resets, account unlocks, and basic OU updates. First-Level Incident Triage: Monitor system alerts, triage incoming incidents, log tickets, perform basic troubleshooting (service restarts, disk space cleanup, CPU/RAM utilization checks), and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams. Routine Patching & Maintenance: Execute routine, pre-approved server patching tasks (WSUS/SCCM), system reboots, and scheduled maintenance windows following standard operating procedures (SOPs). Storage & Disk Management: Perform basic storage allocation checks, disk volume cleanups, file share access permissions (NTFS/SMB), and mount point checks under guidance. Backup Verification: Verify daily Windows system backups, monitor job completion statuses, and report backup failures or storage capacity issues. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate ticket updates, track system handovers between shifts, and strictly adhere to change management and compliance runbooks.

Skill Requirements

Technical: Windows Server Administration: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in basic Windows Server OS administration (2016, 2019, 2022). Active Directory & Core Services: Fundamental understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and NTFS permissions. System Monitoring & Diagnostics: Familiarity with Windows Event Viewer, Performance Monitor, Task Manager, and core service management (services.msc). Basic Networking: Solid grasp of TCP/IP, IP addressing, RDP, file sharing (SMB/CIFS), and network connectivity commands (ping, tracert, nslookup). Non-Technical Disciplined approach to following ITIL processes, standard runbooks, and escalation procedures. Good troubleshooting mindset for diagnosing baseline OS and hardware/service alerts. Willingness to work in a 24x7 rotational shift setup. Good to Have Skills: Basic experience with PowerShell scripting for automating daily administrative tasks. Baseline exposure to enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) or cloud consoles (Azure, AWS). Hands-on exposure to ITSM ticketing tools like ServiceNow or Remedy. Soft Skills: Clear written and verbal communication skills for handovers, client updates, and ticket documentation. High attention to detail with an eager, continuous-learning attitude. Customer-centric approach and solid collaborative skills within a global IT support team.
