SQL / ETL Developer – Henderson, NV Onsite | U.S. Work Authorization Required | No Sponsorship/C2C
IMPORTANT APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States without employer or third-party sponsorship, now or in the future. U.S. citizens and permanent residents (Green Card holders) are eligible. PMSI does not provide visa sponsorship and will not consider candidates requiring sponsorship through a third-party employer or staffing company. This is a direct-hire position. No third-party recruiters, agencies, or C2C arrangements. Candidates currently located in the Las Vegas/Henderson area are strongly preferred.
About the Role
If you love digging into complex data, figuring out how things work, and making them work better, faster, and smarter, this may be the role for you.
Preferred Mortgage Services, LLC (PMSI) is looking for an experienced SQL / ETL Developer to join our technology team in Henderson, Nevada. You’ll work with high-volume financial and operational data that drives reporting, reconciliation, automation, analytics, and critical business decisions for our clients.
This is not a role where you’ll spend your day writing simple queries. Our environment includes sophisticated SQL, ETL processes, stored procedures, business rules, legacy logic, and data moving across multiple systems. We need someone who enjoys getting into the details, following the data, solving difficult problems, and finding opportunities to make processes more efficient and reliable.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work with automation, AI-assisted development tools, cloud technologies, and a team that is actively modernizing how we build and support our technology.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build & Optimize SQL Solutions
- Design, develop, test, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database solutions.
- Support financial reporting, reconciliation, operational processing, analytics, and other business-critical workflows.
- Dig into existing and legacy SQL to understand business logic, calculations, dependencies, and data lineage.
- Troubleshoot challenging production and data issues and develop solutions that fix the root problem, not just the symptom.
- Tune queries, analyze execution plans, improve indexing, and find ways to make critical processes run faster.
Build & Improve ETL and Data Pipelines
- Design, build, maintain, and optimize ETL processes across multiple systems and data sources.
- Develop data transformations and integrations for large-volume financial and operational datasets.
- Troubleshoot failed workflows, data-quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Improve data movement, validation, reconciliation, reliability, and scalability.
Automate & Modernize
- Find opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and coding agents to help with development, analysis, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Review and validate AI-generated code before it reaches production.
- Use C#, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies when appropriate to support automation and data-processing initiatives.
- Help us improve existing processes while exploring better ways to solve new problems.
Work With the Business
You won’t be working in a silo. You’ll partner closely with our Business Analysts, Operations teams, developers, and system architects to understand how the business works and turn those requirements into reliable technical solutions.
We want someone who can ask good questions, investigate independently, explain what they find, and work collaboratively to solve complex problems.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of professional experience in SQL development, ETL development, data engineering, database development, or a closely related technical role.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Strong experience building and troubleshooting ETL and data-integration processes.
- Experience with complex queries, stored procedures, functions, views, relational database design, and large datasets.
- Strong understanding of query optimization, execution plans, indexing, and SQL Server performance tuning.
- Experience investigating existing or legacy SQL and tracing business logic, calculations, dependencies, and data lineage.
- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, data quality, and production troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills—you should genuinely enjoy figuring out why something isn't working.
- Ability to translate business requirements and rules into dependable technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
Even Better If You Have
Experience with financial services, mortgage servicing, banking, fintech, or another data-intensive or regulated environment would be valuable, but it isn't required.
We'd also love to see experience with C#, Python or PowerShell; AWS technologies such as S3, Lambda or RDS; MongoDB or other NoSQL databases; AI-assisted development tools; automated financial reporting or reconciliation; or complex legacy database environments.
Why This Role Is Different
PMSI is a smaller technology organization working on some very complex problems. That means your work won't disappear into a giant development organization.
You'll have an opportunity to understand the business behind the data, work directly with the people using what you build, help improve existing systems, and contribute to how we modernize our technology going forward.
If you enjoy being hands-on, solving puzzles, working with complex data, and making systems better, we'd like to hear from you.
Work Environment
This position is based in our Henderson, Nevada office. Our current schedule is onsite Monday through Thursday, with Friday remote. The initial work schedule is approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., subject to business needs.
Because collaboration with our Development, Business Analyst, and Operations teams is an important part of the role, local Las Vegas/Henderson candidates are strongly preferred.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without employer or third-party sponsorship, now or in the future. PMSI does not provide visa sponsorship and does not accept C2C arrangements, third-party employment, or agency submissions. No third-party recruiters, please.
