Job Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)  is an exempt leadership role. The SLP is responsible for client’s assessments and ensuring programming accuracy. Provides quality care and  ensures full integration of the speech department with other therapy programs. Collaborates with other departments to ensure full integration with other BlueSprig services.

 

Compensation:Hourly Rate: $55-$74/hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial evaluations and re-evaluations for all clients
  • Develops appropriate treatment plans focused on implementation of evidenced based therapy techniques
  • Develops and conducts trainings for Speech Department and related staff
  • Conducts parent training sessions
  • Conducts direct therapy 30% of the time on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for training, monitoring, supervising and completing administrative responsibilities related to supervising SLP- Assistants
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of Augmentative and alternative communication approaches and programming of devices for clients as needed
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of developing and implanting feeding treatment programs
  • Collaborates with integration team (i.e. occupational therapy, ABA programmers/therapists, and operations) for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines
  • Completes documentation to meet insurance and/or Medicaid medical documentation requirements
  • Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports, activity/supervision logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation/reports, screening results, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance
  • Completes discharge planning and documentation as needed
  • Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing clients' needs
  • Actively contributes to parent trainings, client care conferences
  • Maintains client confidentiality and protects facility information by exhibiting compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations, reimbursement requirements
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders
  • Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and a current license to practice as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the state of Texas
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Previous experience supervising SLP-Assistants is preferred
  • Experience with working in a multidisciplinary environment is preferred
  • Experience evaluating and treating clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, presentation, problem solving, and multitasking skills are required
  • Must have effective time management skills
