Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef specializing in Arabic & Western cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing authentic Arabic dishes along with a mastery of Western cuisine, ensuring a high standard of food quality, presentation, and taste. As the Sous Chef, you will assist in leading the kitchen team, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining exceptional hygiene and safety standards.

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Arabic and Western dishes, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
• Assist in designing and developing innovative menus that balance tradition with modern culinary trends.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared according to restaurant standards and guest preferences.
• Maintain knowledge of current food trends and introduce creative and seasonal menu items.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Lead, train, and mentor junior chefs, ensuring high performance and teamwork.
• Maintain clear communication with the Executive Chef and other team members to ensure consistency in operations.
• Monitor kitchen workflow, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of food.
• Ensure all food items are prepared following hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Monitor stock levels, assist in inventory control, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and other food safety regulations.
• Cater to guest dietary needs, preferences, and special requests, ensuring a personalized dining experience.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to receive guest feedback and enhance dining experiences.
• Assist in live cooking stations and special dining events when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a sous chef, specializing in Arabic & Western cuisine.
• Strong expertise in traditional Arabic dishes, including mezze, grilled meats, seafood, and Arabic desserts.
• Excellent knowledge of Western cuisine, including European and Mediterranean flavors.
• Experience working in luxury hotels, resorts, or all-day-dining restaurants is preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Certification in culinary arts or professional chef training is an advantage.
