Sourcing Specialist – Electronic Components

Our sourcing team’s mission is to optimize the supply chain of VanMoof by selecting the best partners based on matrix of cost, quality, service, and delivery capabilities.To be the cornerstone of operational excellence, driving innovation and efficiency throughout our organization's supply chain. We aim to build a robust network of trusted partners, deliver exceptional value to our customers, and continuously optimize our processes to meet evolving market demands.You will be reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer in Taipei, and working with the sourcing team and program managers in Taipei and product team in Amsterdam. 

We are seeking a highly skilled, resourceful, and senior professional to join our dynamic team. This role focuses heavily on strategic sourcing for electronic components and electronic engineering parts, alongside managing assembly factory operations and logistics networks. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the electronics ecosystem and a proven track record of securing critical supply during fast-changing market conditions.

What you’ll do

• Electronic Component & Supply Management: Manage and optimize the supply chain for electronic components, PCBA, and electro-mechanical parts. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key component manufacturers, distributors, and vendors.
• Shortage & Allocation Mitigation (Expediting): Proactively monitor material availability, identify potential supply bottlenecks early, and execute aggressive expediting strategies (追料) to resolve critical component shortages and ensure production continuity.
• Sourcing Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute tailored sourcing strategies for electronic parts, qualify alternative components or secondary suppliers to minimize risks, and optimize processes for cost savings and efficiency.
• Assembly Factory Management: Coordinate closely with assembly factories, align production schedules with component delivery timelines, negotiate contracts, and monitor overall supplier performance.
• Risk & Lifecycle Management: Assess and mitigate long-term sourcing risks, manage component end-of-life (EOL) issues, and develop robust contingency plans to safeguard supply continuity.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate tightly with R&D, Quality, and Program Management teams to align sourcing strategies with engineering roadmaps and product development objectives.

What you'll bring

• 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management, with a strong track record specifically focused on electronic components, electronic engineering parts and assembly factory ecosystems
• Crisis & Shortage Management, proven capability in material expediting, dealing with market allocations, and leveraging broker networks or alternative sourcing channels to resolve severe supply constraints.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain management tools
• Preferably within fast-paced companies focused on R&D / Production
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English and Mandarin
• You currently live in Taiwan
