Job Summary

You will translate customer and product requirements into software solutions spanning embedded and application domains. These solutions will prioritise usability and performance while recognising the needs of users in the field.

Once defined these solutions will be translated into requirements, architectures and designs that allow the implementation teams to deliver.

You will then collaborate with the development teams to drive the solutions through to delivery whilst managing change and technical challenges

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand end user needs to develop optimum usability
  • Turn customer and product requirements into software system solutions
  • Work collaboratively with systems, software and hardware teams to design effective, high-performance solutions
  • Provide documentation, guidance and coaching to ensure knowledge is shared and the team is developed
  • Contribute to the development of software plans, milestones and estimates
  • Use AI capabilities appropriately to improve development effectiveness


Basic Requirements

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Experience in architecting software solutions spanning user, application and embedded domains
  • Requirements development and management
  • Ability to mentor others and share knowledge
  • Strong communication skills with a wide variety of engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
  • Experience solving undefined, complex systems issues drawing from deep architectural knowledge.
  • Experience in working with stakeholders to define deliverable solutions from a high-level statement of need

Desirable

  • Subject matter expertise in signal processing domain architectures.
  • Proven experience interfacing with external vendors, component suppliers, or client engineering teams.
  • A background in defence or other related field
  • A background in safe / high reliability software development
