The Commerce org owns everything a business needs to sell, get paid, and keep its books straight: product catalog and inventory (PIM), checkout surfaces, payment provider integrations, invoicing and accounting, and the document platform that renders every invoice, estimate, and receipt the platform produces. We run a Go domain tier behind ConnectRPC and protobuf, deployed on GKE with Istio mTLS in STRICT mode. Financial truth lives in TigerBeetle, with PostgreSQL carrying metadata. Authorization runs on a ReBAC substrate (SpiceDB/OpenFGA). Roughly 40 engineers across seven teams, each with a single clear charter. This is a platform with real money moving through it and real merchants depending on it. The work is correctness-sensitive and the feedback loop is short.
