About this role

Summary of Responsibilities: 

The Small Group Coordinator is responsible for managing data, records and rosters for Highlands College student small groups. By working directly with the Church Life Director, this role will help create and support the experience of our students’ spiritual development by ensuring their involvement and growth through attending and leading small groups at their local campuses. This role’s primary responsibility is managing the administration of small groups for our students year over year. 


Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

 Small Group Administration 

  • Partner with campus leadership to recruit, develop, and retain high-quality small group leaders while overseeing the organization of group rosters. 
  • Oversee the development and distribution of key leader resources, including master rosters, academic calendars, care pathways, and clearly defined expectations. 
  • Drive leader engagement and alignment through bi-annual trainings, consistent communication, and ongoing support throughout the semester. 
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics in Blackboard, Anthology products, and department scorecards. 
  • Document student participation (including Freedom Conference attendance) and small group leadership to ensure graduation requirements are accurately recorded. 


Church Life Administration 

  • Design and manage Blackboard discussion content to effectively capture and reflect students' spiritual growth and engagement in church life. 
  • Track and report key performance metrics through scorecards aligned with the Spiritual Development Pillar and Church Life Team. 


Dream Team Party Planning 

  • Lead collaboration with Church of the Highlands leadership to develop and implement a registration system for student participation and ensure every student has an assignment. 
  • Oversee communication strategy to students and campuses leading up to the event. 
  • Recruit and coordinate Highlands College teammates to travel with and support students across campuses. 


Other Duties:

  • Provide administrative support as needed in seasonal projects across the Spiritual Development Department. 
  • Participate in ministry at Church of the Highlands and Highlands College by leading small groups. 
  • Affirm and uphold the Statement of Faith and the Core Values and DNA of the College, exemplifying all by word and lifestyle.

  • No degree requirement. 


Experience

  • 3 years of ministry or leadership experience preferred.

  • Ability to drive between campuses. 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
