As a Shift Mechanic, you’re not just ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operations of the hotel's guest rooms, public spaces, and heart of house areas – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest. Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

• Maintain hotel rooms and keep facilities running smoothly: Perform preventive and non-scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs of items ranging from, but not limited to: light bulbs, outlets, faucets, toilets, caulking, grouting, and painting. 
• Respond to service requests: Quickly handle guest service calls and assigned tasks to completion. Coordinate with other departments and team members as needed. 
• Document maintenance activities: Record completed repairs and report any issues requiring further attention.

Required Qualifications 

• Must have basic experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical 
• Graduation from a vocational school with emphasis on building operation or general maintenance
• Current working knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work
• Basic computer knowledge and experience with systems
• A passion for delivering great customer service
• Ability to work independently and driven to complete tasks
• Previous maintenance experience in a large hotel, hospital, ship, or complex building a definite asset
