About this role

Western International College (WesternIC), in partnership with Western University, provides international students with pathways to undergraduate and professional master’s programs. Located on Western’s campus, WesternIC offers a supportive, student-centred learning environment designed to prepare students for success at Western University and beyond.

As part of its graduate pathway programming for international students, Western International College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Instructor to deliver the following courses:

CSPI200: Communication Skills: Practical and Intercultural Issues

To be successful in their careers and in graduate study, students require effective communication skills. It is also important to be able to transfer and adapt their current skills to new situations. This course provides an opportunity for students to improve the communication skills that are important to graduate study in the context of a Canadian university. It explores communication through the intercultural domain, meaning that it helps students to build on and extend their current intercultural skills, while ensuring that they are equipped to respond appropriately in the varied and multicultural environments they will experience in Canadian graduate studies. During the course students will work individually and in teams to improve their verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.

CWE200: Collaborative Work Environments

Success in today’s professional work landscape requires the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and global contexts. This course introduces students to the principles and practices of working in collaborative environments, with a particular emphasis on cross-cultural communication, team dynamics, and professional expectations. As part of the program, students will develop the interpersonal and organizational skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to complex, team-based projects. Through interactive activities and reflective practice, participants will strengthen their capacity to navigate diverse work environments, resolve conflicts constructively, and foster inclusive, high-performing teams

  • Integrate equity-informed, trauma-aware, and culturally responsive approaches to teaching.
  • Provide timely feedback and assessment of student work.
  • Collaborate with academic and student support teams to ensure alignment with program goals and learner needs.

Qualifications:
