About this role
- Plan and execute works related to repair and dry-docking, including both routine repairs and major repairs.
- Monitor the vessel performance and PMS.
- Conduct vessel inspection for each ship under charge three times a year and follow up on issues identified.
- Prepare and monitor survey cycles, statutory survey requirements /repairs to ensure compliance.
- Monitor and control the purchase and delivery of spare parts and stores supplied to the vessels.
- Prepare the operating budgets for fleet manager/director review and monitor the actual budget spending vs the budget throughout the year.
- Escalate the issue in case the costs are expected to exceed the budget.
- Participate in pre-purchase/pre-takeover third party checking, as well as inspection and reports for the owners as per request
- To have Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.
- Significant Sailing experience as Chief Engineer.
- Expertise on dry bulk vessels.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
