JOB OVERVIEW:
 

This role sits on the Procurement & Contracts team in the Connected Devices SBU of RDS.
 

Connected Devices is one of the most dynamic and interesting areas within the Clinical Research industry. The identification, strategy and management of various devices and their data ingestion modalities to meet the endpoint goals of our customers is ever challenging and exciting.  This highly visible business unit is closely connected to other trial delivery teams within IQVIA.  We work closely with technology partners and our sponsor partners to help speed therapies to market in a global network.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with assigned suppliers and strategic vendor partners.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new vendors in accordance with corporate standards and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand partnerships, improve services, and drive additional business value with assigned suppliers.
  • Build relationships with executive-level contacts within vendor organizations and engage key decision-makers.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on vendor KPIs, metrics, and performance indicators.
  • Lead regular vendor governance meetings, business reviews, and performance discussions.
  • Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations, service levels, and project deliverables.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address vendor-related issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage escalations and drive timely resolution of supplier performance concerns.
  • Participate in commercial discussions and contract negotiations when required.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to understand business needs and develop appropriate solutions and improvement plans.
  • Maintain vendor management systems, documentation, records, and reporting processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding vendor management best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on supplier performance, operational efficiency, and partnership effectiveness.
  • Travel to supplier locations as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Technology, Healthcare, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Vendor Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier performance through KPIs, governance reviews, and service delivery metrics.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to proactively identify complex business challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel and related productivity tools.
  • Experience analyzing budgets, costs, and supplier performance data.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong customer-focused mindset.

Preferred:

  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, software providers, SaaS suppliers, or medical device vendors.
  • Prior experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, clinical research, life sciences, or related regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with vendor governance frameworks, contract management, and supplier performance programs.
  • Experience managing Medical Data Device and Software vendors.
