About this role
Job Summary
We are looking for a Mainframe Test Engineer with strong experience in Banking and Financial Services projects. The candidate should have expertise in (COBOL, JCL, CICKS ,DB2, SQL)
Key Responsibilities
Validate data extracted from Mainframe files.
Validate source-to-target data mappings and transformation logic.
Perform Data Warehouse testing for banking applications.
Validate record counts, field mappings, data types, transformations.
Perform file level validations : Header/Trailer, recorded count, Fixed width field positions, data positions, date and numeric formats
Write SQL queries for source/target reconciliation and data validation.
Design and execute test cases for batch data loads and ETL workflows.
Identify data quality issues and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and data engineers.
Participate in defect tracking and test reporting activities.
Skill Requirements
Experience in Mainframe files/data validation.
Strong SQL writing and query optimization skills.
Exposure with Any ETL Tools (such as Informatica, DataStage Designer, or equivalent).
Hands-on expertise in SQL for data integration and management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution design skills.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Banking or Financial Services domain experience.
