Senior Technician

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Refrigeration Technician to lead and execute complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on commercial refrigeration systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in supermarket refrigeration systems, provide guidance to technicians, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and support customers with timely and effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for refrigerant devices and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex faults in centralized refrigeration systems, including parallel rack systems and multi-compressor installations.
• Overhaul open, semi-hermetic, and scroll compressors, and provide technical guidance during major repairs.
• Maintain and repair condensing units, condensers, evaporators, and associated refrigeration components.
• Service and troubleshoot remote and plug-in display cabinets, walk-in chillers/freezers, blast freezers, and cold rooms.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot electronic refrigeration controllers and remote monitoring systems.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and performance testing of new refrigeration installations.
• Interpret layout drawings, P&ID diagrams, and refrigeration schematics to execute installation and modification works.
• Perform brazing, leak detection, pressure testing, vacuuming, and refrigerant charging using approved procedures.
• Monitor system performance using gauges, manifolds, and diagnostic instruments, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with supervisors and customers to plan maintenance activities and minimize equipment downtime.
• Train, mentor, and supervise technicians and junior technicians in troubleshooting, safety practices, and quality workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with company EHS policies, refrigerant handling regulations, and customer site requirements.
• Estimate, order, collect, and verify required materials, spare parts, and consumables for maintenance work.
• Prepare detailed service reports, root-cause analysis reports, and recommendations for preventive and corrective actions.
• Support emergency breakdown response and provide technical assistance during critical refrigeration failures.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead technician role.
• Strong knowledge of supermarket refrigeration systems, including parallel rack systems, display cases, remote systems, and plug-in cabinets.
• Proficiency in refrigeration control and diagnostic systems such as Emerson, Danfoss, Dixell, Eckelmann, Carel, and remote monitoring platforms.
• Hands-on experience with compressor overhauling, leak detection, refrigerant charging, and system commissioning.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, refrigeration schematics, and installation drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of recurring failures.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Valid UAE driver’s license.
• Willingness to work on-call and respond to emergency service calls outside regular working hours.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in cold and confined environments.
