About this role
Job Summary
| Database Platform Engineer / SRE | 1 | Strong experience as a Database Platform Engineer, Database Reliability Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer supporting production database platforms. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, AlloyDB or equivalent cloud-native database technologies, including provisioning, configuration, operational support and performance management. Experience with backup, restore, replication, high availability, failover, disaster recovery, patching, upgrades and resilience testing for database services. Strong understanding of database observability, including query performance, latency, throughput, connections, storage, replication lag, errors, capacity and service health. Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, and CI/CD or automation tooling for database platform delivery and configuration. Good understanding of security controls, access management, encryption, secrets, certificates, auditability and data protection expectations. Experience supporting business-critical production services, incidents, problem management, operational readiness and continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, data, cloud, SRE, supplier and operations teams to resolve complex platform issues. |
Banking or core banking platform experience. Experience working with Thought Machine Vault. Experience with GCP database services, AlloyDB, PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL or equivalent managed database platforms. Experience with Kafka, data pipelines, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, GKE, Terraform or service mesh technologies. Knowledge of SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, operational readiness, reliability dashboards and toil reduction. Experience with regulated data controls, data governance, audit evidence, backup policy and recovery evidence. |
