Position Overview

mpathic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Front End) to help design and build intuitive, high-performance experiences across our platform and AI safety products.

This role will focus primarily on frontend engineering using React and TypeScript, with meaningful ownership over how complex data, workflows, and AI-powered capabilities are translated into clear and usable product experiences. You’ll work closely with backend engineers and cross-functional partners to take ideas from early concepts and wireframes through implementation and production.

We’re looking for an experienced frontend engineer who combines strong technical execution with a thoughtful approach to UI/UX and is comfortable owning problems end-to-end in a fast-moving environment.

About You

• Proven Experience: 5+ years of frontend development experience, with deep expertise in React and its ecosystem, including tools such as Redux and React Query.
• Frontend Expertise: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3, including experience with CSS-in-JS frameworks such as Emotion or Styled Components.
• Data-Heavy Applications: Experience building and optimizing sophisticated, data-rich web applications involving charts, graphs, complex workflows, and real-time updates.
• State & Component Management: Strong understanding of state management, reusable component architecture, component libraries, and frontend performance optimization.
• Modern Styling: Experience with modern styling frameworks and approaches such as Tailwind, MUI, CSS Modules, or similar technologies.
• UI/UX Fluency: Strong understanding of standard UI/UX design principles and modern frontend development standards, with an eye for usability and detail.
• API Integration: Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend services.
• Portfolio: Ability to provide examples of past work demonstrating your frontend engineering and product development experience.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex technical and product challenges.
• Technical Ownership: Self-motivated and comfortable independently owning work while collaborating closely with a broader engineering and cross-functional team.
• Continuous Learning: Curious about emerging frontend technologies and motivated to evaluate new tools and approaches pragmatically.

Core Responsibilities

• Frontend Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain intuitive, reliable user interfaces for mpathic’s web applications.
• Complex Data Experiences: Build interfaces that make complex data, AI outputs, and workflows understandable and actionable for users.
• API Integration: Partner closely with backend engineers to integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and supporting services.
• UI/UX & Product Design: Create wireframes, provide thoughtful input into product and interaction design, and help translate user needs into effective interfaces.
• Performance & Responsiveness: Test and optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and usability across devices and environments.
• Component Architecture: Build reusable, scalable frontend components and contribute to consistent patterns and standards across our applications.
• Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code while contributing to engineering best practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across engineering, product, AI, and other teams to bring ideas from early concepts through implementation and production.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot complex frontend issues and identify opportunities to improve application performance, architecture, and user experience.
• Research & Experimentation: Stay current on emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and industry practices, and evaluate new approaches where they can meaningfully improve our products.

You’ll help mpathic turn sophisticated technology and complex data into products that feel clear, intuitive, and polished for the people using them.

You’ll take meaningful ownership of frontend architecture and implementation, improve the performance and maintainability of our applications, and help establish patterns that allow the product and engineering teams to move quickly as mpathic grows.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $110,000–$165,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
