About the role

 

We are looking for a skilled webMethods Expert Developer who possesses a solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles related to integration solutions. The focus will be on developing and maintaining webMethods integrations while understanding the overall architecture to ensure alignment with best practices and system requirements.

 

This is a strategic engineering role within Orange Business IT (OB IT), aligned with two key transformation programs:

  • API for Business Program – delivering secure, real-time customer APIs via a central Logic API Layer
  • The New Integration Platform (iPaaS) – enabling modular and scalable data orchestration across all OB systems
  • You will work in Agile teams alongside Business Analysts, Product Owners, Architects, and DevOps to ensure robust, maintainable, and scalable integration solutions that power Orange’s evolving digital ecosystem.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and maintain webMethods integration solutions to support business processes.
    • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to understand system architecture and ensure integration solutions align with overall enterprise architecture.
    • Assist in analyzing existing systems and integrations to improve performance and reliability.
    • Configure and optimize webMethods components such as Integration Server, API Gateway, and Trading Networks.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to webMethods integrations within the architectural context.
    • Document integration workflows and provide insights into how solutions fit within the broader system architecture.
    • Keep updated with webMethods features and industry best practices to support architectural understanding.
    • Support architecture reviews and provide feedback based on development experience.

     

     

     

    About you

     

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a webMethods Developer with a good understanding of enterprise architecture concepts.
    • Hands-on experience with webMethods suite (Integration Server, API Gateway, Trading Networks, Broker, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of integration patterns and how they fit into enterprise architecture.
    • Knowledge of XML, web services (SOAP/REST), and related technologies.
    • Ability to interpret architectural diagrams and documentation.
    • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with architects and technical teams.
    • Effective communication skills to understand and convey architectural considerations.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • webMethods certification is a plus.
    • Experience with cloud integrations or microservices architecture is advantageous.
    • Handson experience with webMethods projects
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in backend software development, ideally with integration projects
    • Proven track record in building and deploying scalable services and APIs
    • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and middleware platforms
    • Fluent in English (French is a plus)
