Job Description

About the role:

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will join our Platform team within the Data & AI department and help build and evolve secure, reliable Azure platform foundations, with a significant focus on our agentic AI platform.

You will independently own platform capabilities within a defined scope, from understanding requirements through delivery and operational improvement. You will collaborate directly with stakeholders and seek alignment with more senior engineers on broad or high-impact architectural decisions. You will evaluate emerging technologies, make pragmatic technical choices, identify opportunities and risks early, and help improve our engineering practices. Through this work, you will enable teams to build, deploy, govern, and operate AI agents safely and reliably.

About your tasks:

  • Design, build, and evolve our agentic AI platform, including evaluating managed cloud services, opensource technologies, and build, buy, or hybrid approaches based on technical and operational trade-offs.

  • Design, build, and operate secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, covering areas such as compute, networking, storage, identity, security, and governance.

  • Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, following established practices for modularity, testing, version control, and automated delivery.

  • Develop automation, integrations, and internal platform tooling using Python to improve reliability, repeatability, and developer self-service.

  • Contribute to the deployment and operation of workloads on Kubernetes where relevant.

  • Contribute to the automation, integration, and operation of Data and AI workloads on Azure Databricks where relevant.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Practical knowledge and experience with agentic-system architecture and platform capabilities such as model and tool integration, MCP, context management, identity, security, observability, evaluation, and governance.

  • Strong hands-on expertise designing, building, and operating infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, supported by solid infrastructure fundamentals across compute, networking, storage, identity, security, governance, and containers.

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code—particularly Terraform—and the ability to develop maintainable, reusable, and well-tested infrastructure modules.

  • Strong Python scripting or development experience for infrastructure automation, platform integrations, and internal tooling.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Azure Databricks, or comparable Data and AI platforms, is beneficial. Where your direct experience is limited, you can become productive quickly with minimal guidance and training.
