Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to train and implement continuous improvement through the organization using various methods including training sessions, workshops, projects and on-going initiatives in lean manufacturing.  This position has a system-wide focus.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Leads transformational business process improvements.
  • Acts as a lean expert, providing recommendations, interacting and influencing senior plant management on lean approaches.
  • Actively works with the plant’s leadership team to perform gap assessments on the Plant’s manufacturing system, create current and future state value stream maps, develops lean improvement plans and schedules.
  • Leads cross functional teams through kaizen events and the implementation of the lean toolset (cellular flow, line balancing, standard work, 5S, material and information flow, total productive maintenance, quick change-over).
  • Provides on-going communication to Plant and Senior Management on Lean initiatives.  Provides progress reports on the Plant’s lean initiatives.
  • Ensures that workshop activities address all Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost requirements.
  • Interacts with Black Belts and other members of the continuous improvement team to define targeted cost saving and lean projects that improve the value stream.
  • Drives site-wide awareness and culture towards an inherent spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Establishes best practices for the Business.  Works with the continuous improvement teams across Global Operation units to calibrate and establish company standards and guidelines for lean implementation.
  • Leads lean material flow and implementation of lean tools to optimize the materials management.
  • Supports new model launches.
  • Provides training, mentoring, and facilitation on the Lean and Six Sigma toolset; implements Integer production system.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Four year degree in a technical discipline.  Degree in Industrial Engineering desirable.  Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: 10 years of experience

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Special Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to lead team activities.  Excellent problem solving skills.  Strong computer and presentation skills.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Lean Diagnosis and Lean Manufacturing knowledge including time studies, value stream mapping, pull systems, problem solving and 5S.
