As Senior Manager, Commercialization and Media Creativity, you hold a key strategic position at the intersection of content, digital media, and revenue generation. Fully accountable for the financial performance and overall profitability of your portfolio, you define and lead the national commercialization strategy for Radio-Canada’s properties across all its ecosystems (ICI TOU.TV, ICI Télé, Radio-Canada OHdio, Mordu, and emerging platforms).

A visionary leader and seasoned negotiator, you drive business development, identify new growth levers, and maximize the commercial value of our media assets. You act as a high-level subject matter expert and strategic partner to producers, senior management, programming teams, and business partners to align editorial vision, product innovation, and exceptional financial return for advertisers.

Leading the team, you mobilize and develop talent within a culture of accountability, agility, and excellence. In a context of digital transformation and ambitious digital targets, you provide the leadership required to accelerate the transition toward high-performing new business models.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Strategy, Digital & Business Innovation

  • Financial Accountability & Growth: Hold P&L responsibility, set commercial revenue targets, and develop business strategies to exceed digital and linear financial objectives. ● Strategic Opportunity Development: Initiate, design, and bring to market new business models and offering structures tailored to evolving market trends (interactive formats, podcasts, VOD, multiplatform activations, etc.).

  • Asset Maximization: Optimize the commercial exploitation and overall value of the entire media portfolio (ICI TOU.TV, Radio-Canada OHdio, Mordu, apps, social media, ICI Télé, etc.).

  • Strategic & National Vision: Conduct forward-looking industry intelligence and lead synergies with Toronto-based teams to build and negotiate commercial opportunities with national reach.

2. High-Level Negotiation, Strategic Partnerships & Content Co-Development

  • Advanced Negotiation: Lead complex and strategic negotiations with internal/external producers, agencies, and major advertisers to maximize financial yield from agreements.

  • Upstream Content Integration: Engage early in the development and ideation phases with producers and content leads to co-create high-value, market-ready opportunities without compromising editorial integrity.

  • Governance & Compliance: Define and enforce the regulatory framework (product placement, sponsorships, partnerships) while demonstrating agility to close innovative and profitable deals.

3. Strategic Alignment, Synergies & Sales Enablement

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Engage programming, scheduling, B2B marketing, and research teams to ensure strategic alignment, operational feasibility, and financial viability for major initiatives.

  • Go-to-Market & Sales Support: Equip, guide, and empower the sales force by translating editorial priorities and digital innovations into compelling, high-yield sales propositions.

4. Leadership, Talent Management & Performance Culture

  • Team Direction & Growth: Manage, empower, and mentor a team of advisors and specialists, fostering the development of their strategic and negotiation skill sets.

  • Results-Driven Culture: Drive a culture centered on financial performance, commercial creativity, execution rigor, and exceeding Media Solutions business goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in media creativity, media sales, content strategy, or agency environments.

  • At least 2 to 3 years of team management experience, with proven leadership in driving engagement and innovation.

Digital & Media Expertise: Strong understanding of the digital ecosystem (VOD, audio/podcasting, social media, digital performance metrics) combined with solid knowledge of the television and broader media industry.

Key Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic and complex commercial partnerships.

  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills in a matrix environment.

  • Strong innovation mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and results orientation.

  • Analytical mindset, rigor, and the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously under pressure.

  • Strong knowledge of Radio-Canada’s programming and the competitive landscape (a major asset).

Languages: Full bilingualism in French and English (written and spoken).

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
