About the Role

Are you a seasoned tax professional ready to lead high-impact international tax initiatives? Join our dynamic global team as a Senior International Tax Expert, where you'll take ownership of complex cross-border tax compliance, reporting, and strategic planning — including driving several major initiatives through to completion. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Wrocław, ideal for a candidate who can operate independently on technically demanding work while partnering closely with global stakeholders.

This is a 12-month contract role. We have a defined set of complex, ongoing tax initiatives that we expect to bring to resolution within this timeframe. Extension of the role will be evaluated based on business needs at that time.

What You'll Do

    Global Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and review of tax returns for international entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and close coordination with external advisors.
  • Own the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation for intercompany transactions, including leading transfer pricing studies to completion.
  • Drive quarterly and annual global tax provision calculations (US GAAP).
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors across jurisdictions, including the U.S.
  • Strategic Tax Initiatives

  • Lead the resolution of complex, in-flight tax matters.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of amended prior-year returns.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of tax-efficient structures for global operations.
  • Support tax planning initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
  • Research international tax laws and incentives to ensure compliance and identify opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with finance, legal, and business teams to ensure accurate tax reporting.
  • Develop tax forecasts, budgets, and compliance calendars.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate global tax risks.
  • Audit & Documentation

  • Lead responses to global tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Prepare documentation and audit responses related to international tax matters, including complex or contested positions.
  • Process & Systems Improvement

  • Recommend and implement improvements to global tax compliance processes, leveraging technology where possible.
  • Maintain and enhance tax databases and reporting systems.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in tax or accounting, with a strong focus on international tax.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, technical tax matters to resolution (e.g., PE analysis, LOB, transfer pricing studies, or return amendments).
  • Deep understanding of global tax compliance, transfer pricing, and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to distill complex tax implications for non-tax stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Solid grounding in international tax concepts (e.g., tax treaties, permanent establishment, LOB provisions).
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fixed-term, deliverable-driven engagement.

Success Metrics

  • Timely and accurate tax filings and reports.
  • Successful resolution of key tax initiatives (PE, LOB, transfer pricing studies, prior-year amendments) within the contract period.
  • Improved efficiency in tax processes.
  • Contribution to strategic tax planning and compliance.
