As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the preconstruction and estimating efforts for a variety of projects across Connecticut. You’ll be responsible for analyzing plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. This is a high-impact role!
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates (conceptual, bid, and negotiated).
- Lead bid process from pre-bid through post-bid scope reviews and contract award.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.
- Manage and maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships and solicit competitive bids.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and internal teams.
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bid proposals.
- Participate in the presentation of a bid and/or estimate to the client when required.
- Provide a detailed, informed hand-off of the estimate for awarded projects to Project Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, or Construction Science.
- Minimum 10 years of construction industry experience with the majority in an estimating function.
- Strong understanding of local construction market, codes, and costs in Connecticut.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar) and MS Office.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
