Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Engineer - Structural with a proven track record of 12+ years on large-scale urban master plan projects with high-rise construction. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic structural oversight and leadership on complex, multi-phase urban development initiatives. You will oversee the structural integrity and compliance of sophisticated construction projects, ensuring all work meets approved designs, specifications, and local regulatory standards. You will lead inspection teams, coordinate with multiple stakeholders across urban development programmes, and drive excellence in structural engineering practices whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

  • Lead comprehensive structural inspection and verification programmes across large-scale urban master plan developments, monitoring complex structural elements including foundations, deep foundation works, bridges, underpasses, culverts, and retaining walls to ensure full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and design criteria
  • Verify proper placement of reinforcement, formwork installation, post-tensioning operations, grouting procedures, and concrete sequencing throughout all construction phases on high-rise and multi-building developments
  • Review and evaluate temporary works designs for falsework, scaffolding, and shoring systems across multiple concurrent projects, confirming adequate strength, stability, and safety compliance for complex urban environments
  • Oversee installation and alignment of expansion joints, bearings, drainage systems, and safety barriers across integrated urban development sites, ensuring precision and adherence to contract specifications
  • Analyse applicable Saudi Building Codes and local authority standards, coordinating with designers, architects, and relevant authorities to resolve design discrepancies and site-specific queries on large-scale urban initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor inspection teams across multiple project phases, conducting regular progress meetings and auditing inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor-submitted plans on major urban developments
  • Maintain comprehensive project records including daily and weekly progress reports, material accounting, change orders, and record drawings with meticulous attention to detail across integrated urban master plan programmes
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any violations or deviations, documenting findings and recommendations for corrective action with particular focus on maintaining standards across interconnected high-rise structures
  • Participate in progress review and coordination meetings, providing expert structural knowledge to resolve complex site challenges and optimise project execution on large-scale urban development initiatives
  • Ensure all structural works comply with Health and Safety regulations and participate actively in snagging activities and project handover processes on completed urban master plan phases

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in structural engineering, inspection, or construction supervision on large-scale projects
  • Extensive proven track record of work on large-scale urban master plan projects with high-rise construction
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-rise structural systems, complex foundations, and multi-disciplinary coordination
  • Proven experience working on major structural projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East region
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Codes and local authority standards and requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in structural design, construction materials, and advanced construction methodologies
  • Proficiency with CAD software and structural analysis tools
  • Extensive experience with quality assurance and quality control processes in complex construction environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities with proven experience supervising and mentoring inspection teams on major projects
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make decisive recommendations on complex structural challenges
  • Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices in construction
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed documentation
  • Comprehensive familiarity with temporary works design, falsework, scaffolding, and shoring systems
  • Preferred: Local authority approvals or certifications relevant to structural engineering in Saudi Arabia
