Job Summary
Technology: Redwood | HCL Workload Automation (HWA) | BMC Control‑M Project: DePuy Synthes (Johnson & Johnson) Level: L3 (Senior / SME) Work Location: India (Offshore) / Hybrid – as per DePuy operating model Role Summary The L3 Workload Automation Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise batch scheduling and orchestration across Redwood, HCL Workload Automation (HWA), and BMC Control‑M platforms. The role is critical in ensuring 24x7 availability, stability, optimization, and modernization of workload automation services supporting business‑critical DePuy Synthes applications. Key Responsibilities Platform Ownership & Operations Own end‑to‑end operations of Redwood, HWA, and Control‑M environments (Production and Non‑Production). Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of scheduling platforms. Perform advanced troubleshooting for complex job failures and scheduling issues. Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and permanent fixes for recurring incidents. Job Scheduling & Orchestration Design and maintain complex job flows, calendars, triggers, and dependencies. Support cross‑platform orchestration across ERP, databases, middleware, cloud, and file transfers. Lead job migrations and conversions between Control‑M, HWA, and Redwood. Incident, Problem & Change Management Act as L3 escalation point for P1/P2 batch and scheduler incidents. Collaborate with ServiceNow, application, and infrastructure teams. Review, approve, and implement scheduling changes in compliance with governance standards. Automation & Optimization Identify and implement batch optimization and scheduling efficiencies. Enable automation for self‑healing, alerting, and recovery mechanisms. Develop standard runbooks, templates, and reusable scheduling components. Collaboration & Governance Work with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams for batch alignment. Provide SME input for tooling strategy and workload automation roadmap. Support audits, compliance requirements, and documentation for healthcare environments. Required Technical Skills 5+ years of enterprise workload automation experience. Strong expertise in at least two platforms: Control‑M, HWA, Redwood. Advanced scheduling concepts – calendars, dependencies, triggers, events. Linux/Unix & Windows operating systems. Databases – Oracle, SQL Server. Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure) for batch integrations. ITIL processes and ServiceNow. Desired Skills Healthcare / Pharma enterprise experience.
