The Role

Veeva's Vault Clinical Data Management System (CDMS) is changing how life sciences companies manage clinical trial data, bringing EDC, coding, and Veeva Data Quality System (DQS) together in one platform. We're looking for a Senior Consultant with life sciences software programming experience to help customers get the most out of EDC while running their trials. This is a full-time, permanent, customer-facing role open to candidates working remotely from the EU or UK.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and clinical sites, ensuring trial designs are configured to meet their goals, and providing training and mentorship along the way
  • Work with customers to interpret clinical protocol requirements and project specifications, applying industry and Veeva best practices
  • Lead database development activities per the project plan, coordinating with sponsor, CRO, and other vendor teams
  • Coordinate with clinical data providers (central labs, ECG, eCOA, IRT, etc.) to configure data transfers
  • Configure forms, rules, and other study items in Vault CDMS, and build custom SQL-based listings for customer data cleaning needs
  • Run on-site or remote user acceptance testing, managing feedback, issue resolution, and study acceptance
  • Support requirements gathering and specification writing for study integrations and go-live activities
  • Flag risks and contingency plans to project management to keep the project compliant with regulatory and Veeva procedures
  • Contribute to process, product, and best-practice initiatives, and support developers and testers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Share data management activities, challenges, and end-user feedback with the Vault CDMS product team
  • Configure and support data imports into Veeva DQS

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with EDC clinical software, covering end-to-end data management (database design, data collection, data analysis, query resolution, datasets, statistical reporting)
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial processes, particularly around data collection and review
  • Programming experience in languages such as SAS, R, JSON, Python, or SQL, with the ability to pick up new SQL-based languages
  • Background in the life sciences industry (pharma, biotech, medical device, CRO, or academic/public health), with experience across project assessment, planning, development, training, and implementation
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within software professional services or consulting
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while meeting project timelines
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%, potentially including international travel

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with data management standards (GCDMP, CDISC, SDTMIG, CDASH, ADaM)
  • Experience working with system integrators for IVRS, medical coding, eSource, CTMS, eTMF, or similar clinical technologies
  • Experience integrating or programming with REST-based APIs
  • Experience translating clinical protocols into software specifications, including technical documentation
  • Experience with Veeva applications
  • Located near a major life sciences hub
  • Degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field
