Senior Buyer

Build the supplier partnerships and material readiness strategies that keep innovation on schedule.

At Gogo, delivering world-class connectivity solutions depends on a reliable supply chain that can support both production demands and new product innovation. Our Supply Chain team plays a critical role in ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support the technologies that keep aircraft connected around the globe.

As our Senior Buyer, you’ll lead purchasing activities that ensure timely delivery of materials while supporting new product introductions and ongoing production requirements. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Logistics, and suppliers to manage supplier performance, drive material readiness, and support successful product launches and manufacturing operations.

If you’re someone who excels at building supplier relationships, solving complex supply chain challenges, and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure quality, delivery, cost, and operational objectives are achieved

  • Lead sourcing activities by issuing RFQs, negotiating pricing and commercial terms, and placing purchase orders to support business requirements

  • Partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, and suppliers to ensure materials and documentation are available to meet project and production schedules

  • Manage material readiness efforts for new product introductions and support smooth transitions into production

  • Coordinate vendor onboarding activities for approved vendor list (AVL) suppliers

  • Create and maintain clear-to-build reports, identify material shortages, and escalate risks as needed

  • Manage Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation across purchase orders and supplier commitments

  • Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively communicate risks to stakeholders

  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency

  • Contribute to supply chain initiatives and special projects that support broader organizational goals

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience

  • 5–7 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within electronics, aviation, aerospace, defense, or related manufacturing industries

  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and procurement activities

  • Experience with revision-controlled parts and product lifecycle management within regulated manufacturing environments

  • Strong knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and change implementation processes

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience leveraging data for decision-making and performance tracking

Even Better If You Have

You don’t need to check every box below. If you bring experience in some of these areas, we’d especially like to hear from you:

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems and requirements

  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) programs in a manufacturing environment

  • Exposure to electronics manufacturing, aerospace, aviation, defense, or telecommunications industries

  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier development, and supplier performance management practices

  • Ability to analyze complex information, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions independently

  • Experience working with ERP, MRP, and PLM platforms

  • Familiarity with demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain analytics

  • Experience supporting highly regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Professional certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or related supply chain credentials

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and supplier organizations

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy

  • Partnered with suppliers to resolve issues related to pricing, delivery, quality, and overall performance

  • Administered returns and replacement activities for nonconforming materials
