Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Operating from a creative hub in Melbourne, this versatile architectural studio manages a sophisticated portfolio that ranges from boutique residential and multi-residential projects to complex commercial and social infrastructure developments. The practice is anchored by a philosophy of "intelligent design," where every creative concept is rigorously evaluated against both high-level aesthetics and pragmatic financial metrics.

Role Overview: The Senior Architectural Technician / Draftsperson is a vital technical pillar within the firm, responsible for producing comprehensive documentation for multiple projects simultaneously. This role focuses heavily on the detailed design phase required for Development approval (town planning), and construction, ensuring all drawings are precise, compliant, and ready for tender. You will act as a central source of technical expertise, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with consultants to ensure that the creative vision is backed by sound technical logic and adheres to all relevant building codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality detailed design and DA drawing packages
  • Produce high-quality detailed  construction documentation sets, ensuring all drawings and specifications are accurate and ready for regulatory review.

  • Review and integrate consultant drawings into a cohesive documentation set, managing input from various specialists to ensure project harmony.
  • Take a lead role during the construction services phase, responding to builder RFIs (Requests for Information) and resolving technical issues.
  • Serve as a technical mentor to the wider team, assisting with complex queries and proactively optimizing CAD/BIM systems and processes.
  • Effectively prioritize workloads across multiple projects, advising senior staff on capacity and ensuring all project and client timelines are strictly met.
  • Take full accountability for documentation work, working independently to alleviate the workload of the lead project teams while maintaining high standards.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and contractors, embodying the firm’s value of partnership by listening to briefs and remaining flexible as projects evolve.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed a tertiary qualification in Drafting or Building Design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Technician / Draftsperson or related role.
  • Extensive knowledge of building standards and regulations.
  • Advanced computer literacy with specific expertise in CAD/BIM software and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Revit experience with a core focus on producing large-scale drawing packages, complex 3D modelling, and highly detailed technical drafting (not design-focused).
  • Extensive experience in the technical documentation and detailing phase; a passion for the practicalities of building assembly and construction.
  • Proven ability to develop detailed drawings that balance creative design with practical buildability and cost indicators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements to clients and project stakeholders.
  • A methodology-driven approach to problem-solving, with the ability to analyze issues from multiple viewpoints to find sophisticated solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage the resourcing and delivery of documentation across a diverse project portfolio.
