Position Summary

Credence has an immediate need for a Senior Application Programmer to support enterprise system modernization and API integration initiatives. This role serves as a technical lead responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining secure, scalable APIs and integration solutions using MuleSoft, SAP integration technologies, and modern DevSecOps practices.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing enterprise-grade APIs, integrating complex business systems, modernizing legacy interfaces, and supporting mission-critical applications in large-scale enterprise or government environments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise APIs and integration solutions.
  • Modernize legacy interfaces and data exchanges by implementing secure, reusable, and real-time API services.
  • Develop API solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Anypoint Studio, API Manager, and Runtime Manager.
  • Create and maintain API specifications using REST, SOAP, RAML, OpenAPI, JSON, XML, and related technologies.
  • Develop data transformations, mappings, validation rules, and reusable integration components using DataWeave.
  • Integrate enterprise applications with SAP, databases, cloud services, SaaS platforms, and other internal and external systems.
  • Implement API security controls including OAuth 2.0, JWT, PKI, client authentication, and role-based access control.
  • Design scalable and highly available solutions that support load balancing, resiliency, and enterprise performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, business analysts, cybersecurity teams, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support CI/CD and DevSecOps practices using tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitLab, Maven, and Azure DevOps.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical reviews, sprint planning, and solution design discussions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, resolve defects, and support software releases and deployments.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across development teams.
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, application programming, enterprise integration, or API development.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise software solutions.
  • Experience developing APIs and integrations using MuleSoft or a comparable middleware platform.
  • Experience integrating enterprise systems, databases, web services, and cloud-based applications.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, software design principles, and system integration patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts and mentor development teams.
  • Relevant technical certification or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience supporting federal government or highly regulated environments
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud or secure cloud environments
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Postman, SoapUI, SonarQube, or MUnit
  • Understanding of RMF, ATO, STIG, PKI, and cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • Experience building high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
