About this role

Our client is seeking a senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) focused on Cards to design, implement, and maintain test automation that ensures robust, scalable delivery of card-related systems. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to embed automated functional, integration, and performance testing into the development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines. The role emphasizes hands-on coding in C# /.NET, building test frameworks for UI and APIs, supporting REST API migrations from legacy SOAP/WCF services, and validating system resilience through load and performance testing. Responsibilities Create test case scenarios for improving test coverage using C# and .NET. Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and performance/load testing. Develop and execute automated test suites to validate functional and non-functional requirements. Develop comprehensive test strategies for REST API migrations from legacy SOAP/WCF services. Perform end-to-end testing of API workflows, including authentication and authorization flows. Validate OpenAPI/Swagger specifications against actual API implementations. Test adapter layer functionality between REST APIs and legacy SOAP/WCF services, ensuring backward compatibility during migration phases. Validate file-based interface translations and data integrity across systems. Perform regression testing on existing SCM and card-related functionalities throughout migration phases. Conduct integration testing with internal and external systems, including Presidio IVR systems. Validate OAuth 2.0 and MFA implementations across services. Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools. Design and run load and performance tests to validate system resilience and scalability using tools such as JMeter or Gatling or LoadRunner. Create and maintain tools for test data generation, mocking, dependency control, and system observability. Collaborate with software development teams to promote testability, shift-left practices, TDD, and clean code architecture. Participate in code reviews for application and test code, providing actionable feedback on coverage and quality. Mentor engineers and QA team members in automation practices and support a culture of test-driven development. Instrument tests and systems for observability and monitoring to support debugging and performance analysis. Maintain and evolve automation to work reliably in containerized and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/AWS/GCP). Requirements 4+ years of experience in software test automation, SDET, or development roles. Strong programming skills in C# /.NET or a similar object-oriented language. Create and implement test case scenarios using C# and .NET to improve test coverage across application and integration flows. Hands-on experience building automation frameworks for UI testing using Cypress, Selenium or Playwright. Hands-on experience building API automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or similar. Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, and WCF protocols and experience testing integrations between modern and legacy services. Experience testing OAuth 2.0 authentication flows and familiarity with MFA implementations. Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and experience with API documentation, contract validation, and validating specifications against actual API implementations. Experience with unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, MSTest, or xUnit. Hands-on experience building load and performance tests using JMeter or Gatling or LoadRunner. Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.. Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments. Familiarity with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP. Experience participating in code reviews and providing feedback on test coverage and quality. Nice to Have Background in cards, payments, fintech, health tech, or other regulated industries. Strong debugging skills in distributed system environments. Experience testing adapter layers, file-based interfaces, and backward compatibility across legacy and modern systems. Experience with IVR integrations, particularly Presidio IVR systems. Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Application Insights, Datadog, or Splunk.
