We're Seeking a Rockstar School Break Day Camp Site Leader

Are you ready to lead a campsite to success? As we prepare for our upcoming School Break Day Camps, we’re looking for passionate and experienced Site Leaders to join our NYC team and share their availability for upcoming camp dates.

In this role, you will inspire and support our educators, ensuring they have a happy and rewarding experience at our School Break Day Camps. You will show love and care to our campers, deliver the highest level of customer support to parents, and guide our staff to shine.

Our School Break Day Camps take place on select days and school breaks when schools are closed throughout the year, making this a great opportunity for experienced educational leaders looking for flexible leadership opportunities that fit their availability.

School Break Day Camp Site Leader Responsibilities

  • Teach and Inspire: Lead your assigned group of campers with engaging activities that bring NORY’s core values to life, inspiring curiosity and enthusiasm.

  • Coach and Train Educators: Mentor and develop our teaching staff, ensuring they grasp the purpose behind each activity and properly implement protocols to create a fun and safe camp environment.

  • Nurture and Support Campers and Their Families: Build nurturing and supportive relationships with NORY campers and their families to enhance the camp experience for everyone involved.

  • Resource Management: Efficiently oversee and manage essential resources necessary for the success of our NORY camps, including materials, facilities, and daily schedules.

  • Administrative Oversight: Keep accurate and up to date administrative records for all aspects of camp, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.

School Break Day Camp Site Leader Qualifications

  • You have experience managing and coaching a team of 4+ teachers and fostering a positive team environment.

  • You have a track record of building strong relationships with families in a camp or educational setting.

  • You have more than 4 years of experience, preferred, teaching children ages 3 to 13 in any subject or discipline, preferably with a focus on STEM.

  • You demonstrate a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and adopt new technology and skills.

School Break Day Camp Site Leader Compensation and Benefits

  • Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Compensation: $200 to $210/day

    • Additional $20/hour for extended care until 5:00 PM

    • Includes attendance at one lab camp session, ranging from 1 to 5 days.

  • Benefits: 401 (k) plan available to eligible employees.

Beyond Day Camps

At NORY, the opportunity to make an impact continues beyond our School Break Day Camps. We also offer opportunities through afterschool programs, birthday parties, and special events, giving you additional ways to stay involved with NORY, continue developing your leadership skills, and make an impact on our campers and community throughout the year.
