SAP BW S4 Hana Senior Technical Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP BW Consultant with 8–10 years of hands-on experience in SAP BW 7.5, BW on HANA, and SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP Business Warehouse architecture, data modeling, development, performance optimization, production support, and maintenance. The candidate should be capable of translating complex business requirements into scalable enterprise data warehousing and reporting solutions.

Strong experience in SAP BW production support, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and BW on HANA environments is required. Exposure to S/4HANA data extraction, CDS Views, ODP, and Embedded Analytics is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP BW/BW on HANA data warehousing solutions.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable data models, extraction strategies, and reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain core SAP BW objects, including:
• InfoObjects
• Advanced DataStore Objects (ADSOs)
• CompositeProviders
• Open ODS Views
• Transformations
• Data Transfer Processes (DTPs)
• Process Chains
• Design and implement efficient data extraction and data loading processes from SAP and non-SAP source systems.
• Develop data extraction solutions from SAP FI and SD modules, with a strong understanding of relevant business processes and data structures.
• Work with SAP S/4HANA as a source system and support extraction using appropriate frameworks and technologies.
• Provide SAP BW production support and maintenance, including incident analysis, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Monitor data loads, process chains, and system performance, and proactively address failures and bottlenecks.
• Analyze and resolve BW query, data load, and performance-related issues and implement appropriate optimization strategies.
• Participate in data migration, BW modernization, and enhancement initiatives.
• Support the integration of SAP BW with S/4HANA and non-SAP source systems.
• Support SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics scenarios, including reporting and analytical requirements based on CDS Views.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, functional consultants, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Lead or contribute to technical design discussions, effort estimations, solution reviews, and implementation planning.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the adoption of SAP BW development standards and best practices.

Skill Requirements

SAP BW / BW on HANA

• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in SAP BW/BW on HANA.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and SAP BW architecture.

• Experience in designing and implementing end-to-end BW data flows.
• Strong understanding of SAP BW data extraction frameworks.
• Experience in BW production support, maintenance, monitoring, and incident management.
• Good understanding of performance tuning and optimization for BW objects, data loads, and queries.

SAP S/4HANA

• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA as a source system.
• Good understanding of CDS Views and their role in analytics and data extraction.
• Experience with ODP-based extraction frameworks.
• Understanding of SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics.
• Ability to support integration between S/4HANA and SAP BW/BW on HANA.

SAP Functional Knowledge

• Good understanding of key SAP functional modules, particularly SAP FI and SD.
• Hands-on experience with data extraction from SAP FI and SD.
• Ability to understand functional requirements and translate them into appropriate BW data models and extraction solutions.

Reporting & Analytics

• Experience with BEx Query Designer.
• Experience with SAP Analysis for Office (AO).
• Good understanding of SAP BW reporting and analytical concepts.
• Ability to develop and support reporting solutions based on business requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in SAP BW modernization and migration initiatives.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise data warehouse environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with distributed technical and functional teams.
• Experience in mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance.
