About this role

About Mia Labs

Mia is the AI communication platform for car dealerships. We answer and act on every inbound call, text and web lead so dealers stop losing service appointments and sales to voicemail. Franchise dealers and some of the largest dealer groups in the country run on Mia.

Why this role exists

We don't need a floor of SDRs. Our market is a few thousand serious dealer groups, and every one of them deserves a well-researched, well-timed phone call, not a sequence. We've built signals that tell us when a dealer is likely in market. We need one or two exceptional people to act on them fast, get the right person on the phone and turn that moment into a real opportunity.

This is a career role, not a stepping stone. If you love the hunt, you can do it here at a senior level and get paid like it.

What you'll do

  • Act on signals within hours. Own follow-up on Mia's intent signals: website and content engagement, leadership changes (new GM, GSM or dealer principal), BDC hiring, acquisitions and buy-sells. Decide which are worth a call and which are noise.

  • Live on the phone. Dealers don't live in their inbox. Calling is your primary channel, backed by sharp email, LinkedIn, text and the occasional rooftop visit or event.

  • Break into strategic groups. Work a named list of major and strategic dealer groups with no active conversation. Map the group, find the operator who owns the problem (GM, fixed ops director, service director, dealer principal) and multi-thread.

  • Qualify like an AE. Run first discovery, confirm fit and pain, and hand AEs a meeting they'd have booked themselves, with a written brief.

  • Close the loop with Growth. Tell us which signals convert and which don't, test messaging, and help make the next signal better. You're a customer of our data, and its toughest critic.

  • Respect the territory. Accounts with an active AE relationship are theirs. Clean CRM hygiene in HubSpot is non-negotiable.

How you'll be measured

  • Sales-accepted opportunities per month (target ~10 at full ramp)

  • Qualified pipeline created and, over time, closed-won ARR you sourced

  • Show rate on meetings you set (we expect 70%+)

  • Speed to first touch on high-intent signals

What we're looking for

  • 3 to 6 years in quota-carrying outbound or closing roles, with attainment you can show us.

  • You actually like the phone, and you're good with senior operators who don't have time for you.

  • AI-native in how you work. You use Clay, Apollo, ChatGPT or Claude daily to research accounts, prioritize lists and draft outreach, and you can build a lightweight workflow yourself. You can tell a real buying signal from a vanity one, and you validate before you dial.

  • Strong writer. Short, specific, human.

  • Big plus: you've sold to car dealers (CDK, Reynolds, Cox Automotive, Tekion, Podium, etc.) or worked inside a dealership (BDC manager, service advisor or manager, sales manager).

This probably isn't for you if

  • You want an AE promotion in nine months. Some people will move that way, but that's not why this role exists.

  • You need a script, a power dialer and 100 activities a day to feel productive.

  • You'd rather email than call.

Why Mia

  • Equity participation through stock options.

  • Fully paid health, vision & dental insurance for employees.

  • Flexible PTO and hybrid schedule (3 days / week in downtown Austin).

  • Free lunches, parking stipend provided, team events, and a casual, but get things done culture.

Compensation

  • Compensation for this position will be competitive with current market rates and reflective of the candidate's experience, skills and qualifications.
