Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Trauma Performance Improvement RN, you will serve as a vital project manager and clinical quality leader, championing our Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program. You will play a key role in driving optimal patient outcomes at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) by applying advanced clinical informatics and performance improvement methodologies to ensure full compliance with Washington State DOH/EMS trauma standards and American College of Surgeons (ACS) TQIP requirements.
Every day you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons and trauma leadership, to aggregate and analyze complex clinical data. You will facilitate the full lifecycle of performance improvement initiatives—from identifying root causes and developing evidence-based best practices to documenting process changes and delivering formal presentations to key stakeholders. By monitoring quality indicators and conducting rigorous risk assessments, you will translate data into actionable strategies that enhance healthcare delivery, patient safety, and regulatory compliance across our trauma service lines.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license and possess a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related healthcare field. You bring at least five years of specialized experience in outcomes measurement, clinical data analysis, and the management of acute care teams. Your expert knowledge of trauma registry standards, clinical pathophysiology, and structured project management methodologies will allow you to foster productive professional relationships, navigate complex regulatory landscapes, and drive continuous clinical excellence within our integrated healthcare system.
