About this role

Overview

SummaryLamp Rynearson is seeking a BIM / Revit Technician to support multidisciplinary engineering and design teams in Omaha. This is not an architectural design position. The role focuses on developing and managing Revit models, project drawings, and accurate deliverables for engineering projects such as municipal facilities, treatment plants, utility and infrastructure facilities, and campus projects.

 

As part of a 100% employee-owned company, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, surveyors, and project managers. The position offers opportunities to work across disciplines, expand your technical capabilities, and help improve BIM standards and workflows at Lamp Rynearson.

 

What You’ll Do• Develop and maintain Revit models and project drawings for multidisciplinary engineering projects• Produce accurate drawings, details, and supporting project documentation from Revit models• Convert design, existing-condition, and geospatial information into accurate project models• Assist with multidisciplinary model coordination• Support model setup, file organization, and project standards• Create and manage Revit families, templates, and content libraries• Assist with model reviews, quality control, and standards compliance• Integrate point clouds and reality-capture data into Revit models and existing-condition workflows• Collaborate with engineers, designers, surveyors, project managers, and other design professionals• Research and evaluate new technologies, software, and workflow improvements• Help refine BIM standards, workflows, and best practices across the firm

 

Your First Year• Learn our project types, teams, and current Revit standards• Help build and refine Revit templates and the family library• Take a lead role in point-cloud-to-Revit workflows for existing-condition projects• Become a go-to Revit resource for project teams

 

Technologies You’ll Work With• Autodesk Revit• AutoCAD and Civil 3D• Autodesk Construction Cloud• Point-cloud processing and model-review tools• Point clouds and reality-capture datasets• Engineering and design documentation systems• Visualization and model-review technologies• Emerging BIM and digital design technologies

 

What We’re Looking For• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit• Three or more years of experience using Revit or supporting BIM workflows• Strong understanding of model-based design and documentation• Ability to learn new software and workflows quickly, with strong problem-solving skills• Clear communication and effective collaboration• Attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

 

A Plus If You Have• Experience creating and managing Revit families, templates, and project standards• Experience coordinating models across multiple disciplines• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Navisworks• Experience working with point clouds or reality-capture data• Ability to interpret engineering, architectural, and construction documents• Familiarity with cloud-based document management or model collaboration platforms• Education or training in drafting, design technology, engineering technology, architecture, construction, or a related field
