About the Role 

We are looking for a dependable and organized Retail Store Opener to help prepare our store for a successful day of business. 

In this role, you will be responsible for completing opening procedures, preparing the sales floor, receiving and stocking products, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring everything is ready before customers arrive. You will also support customers and assist with general retail operations throughout the day. 

This position is ideal for someone who is punctual, takes pride in keeping things organized, and can work independently during the early stages of the store opening. Weekend availability is required. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Complete daily store opening procedures, including disarming security systems, turning on lights, and preparing equipment for operation 

• Receive, verify, organize, and stock incoming inventory 

• Prepare and maintain attractive, well-organized product displays 

• Ensure seafood and other products are properly stocked, presented, and accessible to customers 

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized sales floor and work area 

• Assist customers with product information, purchases, and general inquiries 

• Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, debit, and other payment transactions 

• Monitor product availability and assist with inventory-related tasks 

• Follow all company policies, food safety requirements, and health and safety procedures 

• Support other retail operations and duties as assigned by the Retail Supervisor or Store Manager 

What We’re Looking For 

• Reliable, punctual, and responsible with strong time-management skills 

• Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset 

• Seafood or food-handling experience is an asset 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team 

• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 

• Willingness to learn about seafood products and store operations 

• Availability to work weekends is required 

Physical & Working Conditions 

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 

• Ability to lift and handle products weighing up to 50 lbs 

• Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, and repetitive physical tasks 

• Comfortable working in cold and wet environments 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail and seafood-handling environment 

• Ability to follow strict food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards 

Compensation & Benefits 

• $16.75 per hour 

• Commission program based on personal sales
