Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)

We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) to join our team and provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population.

As an RCP, you’ll play an important role in helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes while working alongside an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Your Schedule & Work Environment

• Day shift: 5:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Night shift: 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
• Flexible shift opportunities: Employees can pick up or work split shifts after meeting their regularly scheduled hours, providing additional flexibility and earning potential.
• Overtime opportunities: Eligible employees receive time-and-a-half overtime pay, plus an additional OT bonus of nearly $10 per hour.
• Independent practice with support: Typically, there is one RT on the floor at a time, allowing you to take ownership of your patient care. During the day shift, a CPM is onsite and available for additional support when needed.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Every day can be a little different based on our patients’ needs. A typical shift may include:

• Rounding on patients approximately every 4 hours.
• Providing breathing treatments and other respiratory therapies.
• Performing tracheostomy care.
• Managing and monitoring ventilators.
• Providing care for patients using BiPAP.
• Performing assessments and responding to changes in patients’ respiratory status.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to provide individualized care.

Patient assignments can vary from shift to shift, so there is no fixed number of patients you’ll be expected to care for. Our focus is on providing the right level of care based on each patient’s needs.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

• Provide routine respiratory therapies and cardiopulmonary care to our patients.
• Perform diagnostic and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures as needed.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment to help ensure it is safe and functioning properly.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing when required or requested.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to support individualized patient care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

• Current certification or licensure to practice respiratory care in the state where the hospital is located.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Blood gas licensure is required for positions in the state of Nevada.
• For hospitals that perform arterial punctures and/or run blood gases, a high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is preferred.

Preferred:

• At least one year of clinical respiratory care experience, particularly in an inpatient setting.
• A willingness to learn and grow in a hospital environment.
• A collaborative, compassionate approach to patient care.
