About this role

To cater the requirements of business by development of in-house binders for solvent-based products in the category of Enamels and Wood Finishes.

Development and scale-up of assigned polymer intermediates, along with their performance enhancements, are undertaken to support product innovation, business efficiency and effectiveness. 

Job Context: The role of a researcher in the development of polymeric intermediates is critical to driving innovation and enabling next-generation product solutions. Operating within a dynamic and competitive business environment, the jobholder is expected to contribute to both exploratory research and applied development, ensuring that polymer intermediates meet evolving performance, quality, and sustainability standards. 


Internal Challenge: 

Follow the plan, executing projects under tight timelines, handling multiple projects / tasks simultaneously, data generation/analysis and interpretation Scale up complexity, Technical reporting and documentation.


External Challenge : Generally limited. Occasional requirements of visits at short notice.

Supporting Actions

New Product Development 



  • Conduct literature reviews and competitive analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for innovation.
  • RM exploration & Selection
  • Understand the vital role of the critical raw material in terms of polymer development
  • Experimenting, Testing, Optimization, data analysis and documentation
  • Performance data generation (Short term & Long term) & confirming outcomes against target
  • Carrying out R&R
  • Scale up support at shopfloor

Product Improvement/Upgradation


Performing experiments in time bound manner, results interpretation and optimization to develop product on time

  • Improvement in product performance by process/formulation efficiency
  • Cost optimization and alternate RM evaluation 
  • Leveraging benefits of alternate chemistry or multifunctionality of RMs
  • Data analysis, documentation and co-ordination with pilot plant and manufacturing teams
  • Technical inputs, product vision support to plants
  • Follow scale up protocol and visit for scale up



Ideation and Knowledge generation 


  • Participate in internal ideation meetings/workshops – ideate and work on its feasibility 
  • To carry out extensive literature search in the relevant field and generate idea for the futuristics products

Stakeholder Collaboration 


  • Coordinate with product teams at R & D, pilot plant and manufacturing
  • Liase with Analytical team for RM and product teting/ decoding and developnent
  • Participate in customer feedback/complaint analysis – when ever needed

Policy compliance and Safety 

  • Observe, practice and comply to various policy norms
  • Active participation as safe and good laboratory practices, OHSAS etc.
