Rehabilitation Therapy Technician - Witwer SW (Full Time)

Overview

Support patients on their rehabilitation journey as a Therapy Technician working alongside physical, occupational, and speech therapists. In this role, you will assist with patient preparation, mobility, and basic therapy activities under clinical supervision while helping maintain a safe, organized, and efficient treatment environment. You’ll also manage supplies, support scheduling and clerical tasks, and ensure equipment is clean and ready for use. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, staying active, and contributing to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Support therapists and patients by preparing treatment areas, setting up equipment, and ensuring all therapy spaces are clean, safe, and well stocked.  
• Clean and sanitize therapy equipment, change linens between patients, and maintain organized supply and equipment storage.  
• Assist with direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision, including mobility training, strengthening, and range-of-motion exercises, while helping ensure a positive and safe care environment. 
• Contribute to smooth department operations by ordering and organizing supplies, assisting with scheduling and clerical tasks, and maintaining required logs and documentation. 
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, departmental and hospital meetings, and support program activities such as home exercise preparation and material development.  
• May assist with additional duties including mentoring volunteers, supporting audits, and other assigned tasks that enhance patient care and operational excellence. 

Qualifications

Education: 

• None. 

Experience: 

• Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting serving people preferred. 
• One (1) year of therapy aide experience, some experience as a therapy aide or volunteer, or current enrollment in a 2 or 4 year physical, occupational, or speech therapy program, or a pre-therapy curriculum preferred. 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

• Basic Life Support (BCLS) through the American Heart Association required.  
• IL & IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training in state(s) where providing care required within 60 days of hire.
• IL & IA Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required within 60 days of hire.
