Responsibilities

Work Schedule:

Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Fruday, 8 shift, 2 days a week, hours worked 7:30 - 4:30 w/60 min lunch

No call, weekends, or holidays

 

Job Specific Position Duties:

This position will support the Operating Room.  Core duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The services provided in this contract will be utilized to supplement active duty government Performance shall be according to the requirements contained in this performance work statement (PWS), and professional standards of The Joint Commission (TJC) National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Synthesizes and makes appropriate clinical decisions using a wide variety of data sources, specifically patient response, anesthesia and surgical report and, pre-operative progress notes.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates standards of nursing for Wound, Ostomy, and Continence practice within the 99 MDG.
  • Utilizes knowledge and skill to as Wound, Ostomy Continence client needs and to place in collaboration with the nursing staff.
  • Initiates and implements plan of care is research-based and focused on the nursing
  • Participators in discharge planning of would/ostomy patient in conjunction with multidisciplinary team.
  • Identifies educational needs of patients, nursing and physician
  • Coordinates patient care through a continuum of the surgical process and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness
  • Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records
  • Coordinates patient care through a continuum and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness
  • May be required to work various shifts or augment clinical nursing support within the Medical Management Department during the absence of other team nurses due to illness, leave or deployment.
  • Assesses Uses the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
  • Demonstrates proper preparation of patients for treatments and procedures, to include surgical Provides proper care and evaluation of post-procedural patients.
  • Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity in accordance with requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Degree/Education: Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing. Graduate from an accredited college or university approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).* Experience: Minimum of five years as a Registered Nurse and have the ability to provide clinical and operational knowledge on hospital and nursing standards, regulations, policies, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Minimum of one year as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse.

* Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse from any state

* Life Support Certification: BLS/ACLS from American Red Cross or American Health Association.* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

 

Pay Scale: $60/hr to $68/hr, to be determined based on employment options, qualifications, experience, and location
