Job Description:

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Unit Highlights:

  • We care for a unique patient population with wound, ostomy and continence need across all ten hospital systems. These patients require special care by our expert clinicians specifically trained in all three specialties.
     
  • Promoting the Whole Care experience:  we have an outpatient ostomy clinic offering continuity of care at discharge in the outpatient setting.
     
  • We are the only hospital in Central Florida that offer a practicum program to nurses who want to join the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) profession.
     
  • We provide patient care to pediatrics and adult populations.
     
  • To develop our nurses and partner with nursing residence programs, we offer “job shadowing” where nurses can round with our excellent WOC clinicians and learn.
     
  • We participate in product evaluations, in-services on specialty topics and deliver education programs.
     

Schedule: Per Diem

Shift: Days, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.

  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.

  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures

  • Ability to work as a Team player within a unit

  • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills

  • EKG competency

  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)

  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs

  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$31.85 - $52.76
