About this role
Overview
The DOU RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environments, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
Perform initial physiological and psychosocial needs assessment on all patients within 30 minutes of admissions and shift assessment. Identifies problems specific to biophysical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs. Demonstrates accountability for on-going awareness of the status of assigned patients. Collects and documents data appropriate to the nature and severity of the condition
Qualifications
Current California RN License. Current Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider) and ACLS certification. Completion of Critical Care Course and Dysrhythmia Course if less than 2 years critical care experience. 1 to 2 years DOU/intermediate level/critical care nursing experience preferred. Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment.
