PRIMARY ROLE:
Doctors Hospital is a multidisciplinary health care facility that provides support for a wide variety of Surgical, Medical and Urgent Care specialties. The Registered Nurse is expected to provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the center of all we do and to provide professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients. All while providing exceptional therapeutic care.
• Deliver direct, individualized nursing care to assigned patients across all stages, including pre- and post-operative       care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Take comprehensive patient histories, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop and revise individualized care plans.
• Monitor and document patients' physical and psychological status, reporting changes and revising care plans as     needed.
• Follow protocols for patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Safely execute physicians’ orders, administer medications, start IVs, and assist with procedures and tests.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, applying appropriate interventions.
• Adhere to infection control, aseptic, and isolation procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and timely documentation of nursing care, interventions, outcomes, and patient education.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and post-discharge instructions, ensuring comprehension   and involvement.

• Support and mentor students and new staff, acting as a preceptor and contributing to performance evaluations.
• Identify training needs, support continuous learning opportunities, and participate in staff orientation and CME/CNE   activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care and effective communication.
• Demonstrate clinical competence as per orientation and competency checklists.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and confidential environment for patients and staff, following hospital policies and ethical     standards.
• Take responsibility for own professional development, maintaining a portfolio and staying current with required   training (e.g., BLS, ACLS).
• Participate in audits, health promotion initiatives, hospital meetings, and policy development.
• Contribute to quality improvement through identifying research topics and supporting audit processes.
• Practice effective time management and demonstrate flexibility by assisting other units as needed.
• Uphold professional appearance, attendance, and documentation standards.
• Deputize for the Clinical Coordinator when required and promptly escalate concerns.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by hospital leadership.



OTHER DUTIES:

• The employee, as part of his/her job description shall take part in the activities of any committee that he/she is assigned by his/her supervisor and is expected to attend all scheduled meetings. The employee further agrees to be an active participant in assigned activities related to Doctors Hospital attaining and maintaining Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation


QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 years Medical/Surgical/Emergency care and Critical care nursing experience.
• Diploma in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Science in Midwifery with M.Sc/Post   Graduate diploma in Nursing.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required by start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate preferred upon commencement, otherwise to be acquired within     one (1) year.

• Current certification in Pediatric Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (PALS) preferred upon commencement,   otherwise to be acquired within one (1) year. Required for Nurses in the Urgent Care/ OPD Department.
• Experience in hospital setting and understanding of hospital operations.


ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Registered Nurse will be accountable to the Chief Nurse with secondary reporting lines to his/her designate.

• Requires professional dress and appearance. Well-groomed, with minimal perfume.
