THE ORGANIZATION

Centres for Early Learning (CFEL) includes a group of ten independently owned and operated Child Care Centres. Nine (9) throughout the City of Toronto and one (1) in Milton, Ontario. Since 1975, Centres for Early Learning has been offering quality care for children, currently from infants to 12 years of age. Compensation Package: 

  • Competitive hourly rate starting at $26.86 + $2.00 stipend

Qualifications

  • An ECE diploma from a recognized Ontario college
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educator
  • Up-to-date First Aid and CPR
  • Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test


Duties & Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility  is to co-ordinate and lead her/his team in planning and implementing a program and daily activities
  • Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips, and special activities.
  • Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
  • Incorporate the four (4) foundations of learning – Belonging, Well-being, Engagement, Expression into daily programming to ensure optimal learning and healthy development of the children
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding development of children.
  • Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
  • Direct and participate with children in all planned activities.
  • Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and in-house professional development whether during or after regular work hour


Some daily requirements and components to the job you will need to consider are:

  • Flexibility between the hours of 7:00am – 6:00pm.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
