Brown & Brown is seeking a part-time Receptionist to join our team in Paducah, KY!

 

The Receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk, greeting and directing clients and visitors, answering and routing calls, scheduling appointments, and handling incoming and outgoing mail. Additionally, the role scans and distributes mail and check documentation, orders office supplies, and provides administrative support and project assistance to the Employee Benefits Team Leader and other department leaders.

 

How You Will Contribute: 

 

  • Answer incoming calls, direct callers to the appropriate teammate, take messages, and manage voicemail.
  • Welcome clients and visitors and assist or direct them as needed.
  • Open, sort, and date-stamp incoming mail, then scan and distribute documents to the appropriate Account Managers and Accounting teammates.
  • Scan copies of incoming checks and mail the original checks to the lockbox.
  • Track office supply levels and place orders as needed.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain organized front-desk workflows.
  • Support all departments with additional administrative needs.
  • Complete additional duties and projects assigned by the PCL/Accounting Leader, Employee Benefits Team Leader, or other Team Leaders.

 

Licenses & Certifications:

 

  • Ability to obtain the required insurance license within six months of hire.

 

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • One to three years of experience in a receptionist, front-desk, administrative, or similar position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional and welcoming telephone and in-person communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong planning, organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing needs or unexpected events.
  • Commitment to accuracy, quality, and safe use of office equipment and materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business- or finance-related discipline preferred.
