WHO
WE ARE:
The East
African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is a Midstream development located
across Uganda and Tanzania that includes a nearshore Marine Storage and Export
Terminal (MST). Once completed, the EACOP Company will operate the East African
Crude Oil Pipeline, a 1,443 km long, electrically heated crude oil export
pipeline that transports oil from Kabaale - Hoima in Uganda, to the Chongoleani
Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania for crude export to the international
markets.
JOB DIMENSIONS
Senior Electrical Engineer will
support Back office Electrical Engineer for site electrical activities. Senior
Electrical Engineer will act as Electrical authority MV and HV and will provide
support and tutoring to electrical site technician(s).Senior Electrical
Engineer will manage technicians, service contracts and interfaces with power
grid stations or providers. He/She will be in charge of managing several
service contracts such as UPS, Lighting, HVAC, vendors maintenance services.
He/she is responsible for
maintenance and inspection activities of EACOP electrical equipment who are
mainly:
- Pump package driven by electric VFD motor up to 2 M Watts.
- HV power distribution system
- Piping Heat tracing
- Pipeline LLHT system
- PV farm
- BESS (Battery system)
- UPS
- Electrical Control Panels, MCC, Switchgears, PLC’s, VFD’s, MoV’s,
& CB’s,
- Diesel generators (4 M Watts)
- MVs, HV & LV Systems
- Building electrical wiring system and lighting system
- Air Compressors
- Nitrogen generator
- Fire Heater, Heat exchanger,
Electric heater
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production
Operations
- To ensure the performance / availability of the
facilities, highlight miss-functions, compile relevant data, establish a
diagnosis, produce corresponding report with corrective actions and participate
to the implementation of the agreed plan.
- Prepare periodic or specific reporting of the
maintenance activities under his/her responsibilities.
- Preparation/review of the complex or with external
electric power provider interface PTW dossiers and confirm completeness .
- Preparation of Procedures for operation and shutdown
instructions.
- Participation in production incidents or shutdowns
are properly investigated and sign the associated production reports.
- Assist in identification of possible areas of
optimization, potential improvement to increase equipment availability and cost
reduction.
- Ensure execution of both planned and unplanned
maintenances of electrical equipment so that ensure optimization of equipment
efficiency and availability.
- Assist in the evaluation and participate on the
validation of the Site Modification Request (SMR/RFM); consolidate the
technical dossier on maintenance side.
- Participate in validation of the commissioning /
pre-commissioning of new equipment or equipment modified; ensure the good
management of the punch list after the hand-over.
Maintenance
Operations:
- Participate and assist in the project commissioning
activities and simops interfaces.
- Train and assist electrician technician according to
electrical certification needs
- Contribute to optimization of the maintenance plan
for critical electrical equipment.
- Analyze major malfunctions and failures for critical
equipment, and contribute to the corresponding action plans with Electrical
Engineer
- Contribute on supervision of Electrical spare parts
management for critical equipment from Contractors by ensuring they respect the
methodology and strategy are agreed and implemented within FO stock policy.
- Participate to Contractors’ audits when required.
- Assist Area Electrical Engineer with complex
troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
Quality Assurance:
- Assist in supervising and evaluating the performance
of the Maintenance service contractor, secure that REXs are well implemented
for the maintenance plan to be updated.
Site Management:
- Build TEAM environment.
- Evaluate the personnel working in his team and make
proposals for their training plan.
- Simop and electrical risk analysis maintenance and
commissioning activity during operation.
- Contribute to the training of all personnel under
his/her responsibility.
- Organize Job Training (OJT) in coordination with the
Training Department.

Requirements
MANDATORY
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Academic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s
degree in electrical engineering or similar
• Good
knowledge of CMIMS (Computerized Maintenance & Inspection Management
System).
• Certified MV
and HV engineer
Experience Required:
• 10 years of
experience in Oil & Gas industry, 3 years minimum as site Electrical
authority, Experience in electrical Power generation, distribution, control and
management systems with 10 years’ experience on transformers, HV/LV
switchboards, HV/LV Motors, ECS and PMS.
• Reliability,
autonomy, analytical, organizational capacity and strong technical knowledge
• Good
knowledge of HSE
ADDED ADVANTAGE
• Proficiency
in Oral and written English
