Job Description

General Characteristics

  • Responsible for CONTROLLING quality activities in accordance with quality management system established
  • Establishing inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes & standards
  • Carrying out inspections and tests on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result
  • Ensuring inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix
  • Striving to find potential risks and take preventive actions

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Managing and performing inspection on particular discipline
  • Establishing systematic tools such as inspection matrix to control inspection
  • Forecasting potential risks of particular discipline and taking preventive actions
  • Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP & managing Matrix)
  • Preparing the Inspection records to be reflected on MC Doc.
  • Control Quality Performance Indicator to achieve the target
  • Reviewing & validating NCRs under QC Supervisor or QC Manger’s directions
  • Performing and coordinating inspection with client
  • Carrying out QC Engineer's / Sr. Supervisor's responsibility in his/her absence.
  • Ensuring to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in QA/QC inspections from project starts to completion
  • Familiarity with project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience
  • Experience in oil / gas / petrochemical or power plants
  • Engineering & Construction Company working experience in GCC

Knowledge

  • Welding : (1) AWS as a CWI, or (2) TWI CL as a CSWIP 3.1 WI, or (3) an approved equivalent certification level and scheme
  • Mechanical : API 510, 570, 653 (for inspection of pressure vessels, piping, and storage tanks)
  • Coating : SAEP-316 Level II by (1) NACE as CIP, or (2) SSPC as PCI, or (3) TWI CL as BGAS-CSWIP, or (4) an Approved equivalent certification scheme required for the WORK
  • Non-destructive Testing (NDT) Level II
  • ASNT Level II or III

Technical and Behavioral Competency

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced inspection techniques and tools, material testing methods, and documentation
  •  Leadership skills
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members
  • Ability to analyse and solve complex problems and to work collaboratively
