Overview

Nomad has an exciting opportunity for a QA Engineer to join the team in Hildesheim. 

The primary role will be testing of our portal software product along with the mobile applications and addons that complement the core software. With the portal and OBIS solution becoming more of one platform, scope shall be extended to test other components like RTPI server and other elements of the OBIS platform. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set-up and configuration of test benches 

• Support the team in selecting suitable test methods and test tools for the entire life cycle 

• Develop and execute tests along the entire test pyramid (automated tests as well as manual testing) 

• Further development of an existing test framework for automated tests 

• Creation of software quality reports (defects, test coverage, test case documentation ...) 

• Continuous learning in the course of the agile process (retrospectives, reviews) with focus on SW Quality 

• Active support in establishing agile testing in interdisciplinary and international Scrum teams 
  

Qualifications & Experience: 

• Bachelor or Master in software development or computer science or successfully completed education as a computer scientist with emphasis on system integration or application development. 

• Experience in functional and non-functional software testing within a professional software development environment 

• Experience in the area of testing/test automation and the tools typically used there, such as Python (Robot Framework) or Selenium 

• Experience with Docker Container and Kubernetes 

• Ideally experience with common test management tools and continuous integration systems 

• Good programming skills with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Shell/Bash) 

• A degree as tester on ISTQB level (or comparable) is desirable. 

• Several years of experience in an agile environment and working with developers and product owners in the role of agile tester 

• Have a love of learning and you are seeking to increase your technical expertise

• You are characterized by an open personality as well as persuasiveness and bring along a high level of initiative as well as an analytical and reliable way of working 

• Interested in and enthusiastic about current trends in software testing and test automation and have knowledge of modern scripting languages (e.g. Python or Powershell) and are familiar with developer tools such as Git, Jira, Jenkins and Docker 

• Very good English and German language skills are a prerequisite
