About this role

MCIS is seeking a Project Scheduler to build and maintain accurate, logic-driven schedules that provide clear visibility into project milestones, critical path activities, constraints, and completion forecasts.

In this role, you will serve as the organization’s subject-matter expert for scheduling, critical path management, progress measurement, and schedule recovery planning. You will partner closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Procurement, Logistics, Safety, Quality, and Executive Leadership to ensure projects remain properly sequenced, resourced, and on track.

This position is essential to driving operational success and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in strict alignment with client commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop baseline project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject, ensuring schedules meet contract and owner requirements.
  • Establish activity logic, sequencing, durations, milestones, and critical path in accordance with the project execution plan.
  • Build detailed schedules covering design, procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Resource- and cost-load schedules where required and maintain schedule integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce and maintain rolling 90-day, 30-day, and weekly look-ahead schedules aligned to field work, procurement milestones, and subcontractor deliveries.
  • Facilitate pull-planning and last-planner sessions with field leadership to sequence upcoming work.
  • Translate the master schedule into crew-level plans that enable daily and weekly execution.
  • Perform weekly and monthly schedule updates incorporating field progress, productivity data, change orders, and approved scope revisions.
  • Conduct schedule variance analysis and prepare earned-progress and completion forecasts.
  • Perform time-impact analyses (TIA) and as-built vs. as-planned comparisons to support change orders and claims.
  • Develop recovery and mitigation plans when schedule performance deviates from baseline.
  • Model alternatives using resource leveling, lead/lag adjustments, fast-track sequencing, and additional shifts.
  • Identify constraints and analyze impacts from material delays, labor shortages, design changes, site access, and procurement issues.
  • Produce weekly schedule health reports and dashboard metrics for milestone completion, critical path status, and recovery efforts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of construction scheduling experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules.
  • Demonstrated experience with baseline development, look-ahead planning, progress updates, variance analysis, and recovery planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of the construction lifecycle, sequencing, procurement, change management, field execution, and closeout.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of field experience and scheduling experience may be considered.
  • Preferred certifications include PMI-SP, PMP, AACE PSP, or Primavera P6 credentials.

Skills

  • Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project; Asta Powerproject a plus.
  • Procore, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, tracking templates).
  • Power BI or equivalent dashboard/reporting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with 4D/BIM scheduling and earned value management (EVM) a plus.
