Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Project Manager/Project Lead to join our Power Delivery practice in Fort Mill, SC!

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will assist the practice specializing in Power Delivery (transmission, substation, and/or power studies) engineering services.
  • This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for a Power Delivery practice.
  • Coordinate or direct development, energy assessment, engineering, or construction activities to ensure that project needs and objectives are met.
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Operating with integrity and sound business principals
    • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
    • Establishing goals
    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
    • Having open communication with your partners and team
    • Growing and leading a Power Delivery practice
  • Our Project Managers manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.
  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience with power delivery, transmission line, or related projects 
  • Bachelors Degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Familiar with the relevant standards, regulations, and best practices for power delivery projects
  • Strong technical skills in RISA 3D, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Excel, and/or GIS
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage Power Delivery projects profitably
