Job Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for independently planning, managing and delivering assigned initiatives across the Clinical Future Operating Model Portfolio.

This role provides structured project management discipline across transformation, operating model and cross-functional clinical initiatives. The Project Manager owns delivery of agreed scope, timelines, milestones, Risk, Issues, Action and Decision Log (RAID), reporting and stakeholder coordination, working closely with Accountable Executives, business owners, workstream leads, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and enabling functions.

The role is expected to operate independently, drive accountability across workstreams, escalate decision-ready issues, and support initiatives from mobilisation through delivery, closure and transition to business ownership.

Core Responsibilities

1. Independently manage assigned clinical portfolio initiatives from mobilisation through delivery, closure and handover.

2. Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, RAID logs, action logs, decision logs and dependency trackers.

3. Drive day-to-day execution, ensuring workstreams remain aligned to scope, timelines, governance expectations and delivery commitments.

4. Lead project meetings, workstream check-ins and stakeholder forums to drive progress, resolve blockers and maintain accountability.

5. Coordinate cross-functional teams, including business owners, workstream leads, SMEs and enabling functions.

6. Define and maintain clear project scope, objectives, deliverables, roles, success measures and ownership.

7. Identify, manage, document, and escalate risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies in a timely and decision-ready manner.

8. Prepare executive summaries, project status updates and governance inputs.

9. Real-time maintenance of accurate and current project information in Smartsheet and agreed systems of record.

10. Partner with portfolio leadership to align risks, dependencies, escalations and decisions to governance requirements.

11. Drive delivery discipline through action tracking, milestone follow-up, decision management and escalation.

12. Support KPI and benefits tracking in partnership with the Value Realisation Office.

13. Partner with Business to embed change impact, readiness, learning, adoption and hyper care into delivery.

14. Support process mapping, RACI clarification, handoff identification and transition planning where required.

15. Ensure implementation and project closure activities are completed.

16. Manage confidentiality requirements for restricted or sensitive initiatives.

17. Contribute to continuous improvement of PM templates, Smartsheet toolkits, governance standards and ways of working.

18. Provide business flex PM support where structured project management capability is required.

19. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience independently managing projects, transformation initiatives or cross-functional delivery work.

• Strong project management skills across planning, execution, RAID, reporting and governance.

• Ability to work independently, drive delivery and manage multiple priorities.

• Strong organisation, attention to detail and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to turn ambiguous business asks into clear plans, actions and ownership.

• Experience preparing executive summaries, governance materials or leadership reporting.

• Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and escalations.

• Experience using project management, reporting or portfolio tools.

• Ability to influence and drive accountability across teams without direct authority. Understanding of change, readiness, adoption, training and implementation needs.

• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical operations or consulting.

• Experience supporting transformation portfolios or PMO environments.

• Experience using Smartsheet or similar project / portfolio tools.

• Exposure to KPI tracking, benefits realization or value reporting.

• Experience with process mapping, RACI development or operating model change.

• Project management certification preferred.

1-3 years or equivalent combined education and experience in life sciences, health sciences, or related field.

Physical Requirements: Position requires: ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office equipment, etc. and to move between office locations; ability to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods of time; ability to occasionally manipulate (e.g., lift, carry, move) office

items and packages of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment (e.g., scanner, phone, printer, copier); ability to perceive and assess written materials for prolonged periods of time; and ability to frequently communicate with

colleagues on the phone, by email, and in-person. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is low. This is a largely sedentary role.

Salary Range:

$80,600.00 - $145,000.00

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
